National Night Out
Hi everyone! I haven't introduced myself here yet so first - I'm Natalie and, with my husband Paul, I have been in Willow Glen for almost 2 years. I'm not sure what our neighborhood is called but we are near River Glen Park. We have just added two new kittens to our home and recently started a major landscaping project. Enough about us, I wanted to mention that the latest District 6 newsletter talked about “National Night Out” this August 4th. In case you didn't see it, here's an excerpt: "The purpose of the 34 million person nationwide event is to strengthen neighborhood unity. From 6:00PM to 10:00PM, residents from neighborhoods throughout San Jose will host special events such as block parties, cookouts, ice cream socials, barbecues, and other fun ways to spend an evening outside with your family, friends, and neighbors." We haven't heard of any special events, are we just that out of the loop? Is there anything you can share? We’d love to meet some neighbors and support the community or even just find out what to do to help plan something for our area next year.
